We are dedicated to nurturing a positive American Muslim identity and a devotion to God through the teachings of Islam and a strong commitment to family, community and humanity.

Vision

New Horizon School Westside seeks to inspire its students to fulfill their spiritual, academic and intellectual potential so that they may succeed in a modern, dynamic world. We strive to instill in each child God consciousness and a strong understanding of the Quran that leads them to embrace its values and use it as their guide in life.

Philosophy

Our school’s philosophy is based on the developmental approach in preschool and a more traditional academic approach in our elementary program. Learning is maximized in an active learning environment that involves experimentation, exploration and discovery. Academic excellence is best achieved through critical thinking, problem solving, discussion, and communication skills. Growth in social skills through positive peer and adult interaction, with an emphasis on Islamic values, will help our children develop a positive self-image as American Muslims.

In our Elementary program, we follow a sequential learning program within a more traditional academic structure. Our Kindergarten program serves as the transition between the emphasis on the developmental approach in our preschool program and the emphasis on the academic approach in the elementary grades. A hands-on method is also incorporated within this framework to allow for an active learning process at all grade levels.
